About Us
The Kalwar community The Kalwar community, also known as Kalal or Kalar, is a respected and historically significant community predominantly found across Northern and Central India, including Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh. Historically, the community’s name is believed to be derived from the Sanskrit word Kalyapala, which referred to individuals engaged in the distillation and trade of traditional spirits. Over time, the community has undergone remarkable social and economic transformation. In the past century, members of the Kalwar community have diversified into various fields such as agriculture, business, education, government services, and modern professions. Today, the community is recognized for its strong entrepreneurial spirit, cultural values, and contributions to society. Spiritually, many members of the community consider themselves descendants of the legendary Sahasrabahu Arjuna, while others regard Lord Balabhadra as their patron deity. These beliefs continue to play an important role in shaping the cultural and religious identity of the community. Our organization is dedicated to preserving the rich heritage, promoting unity, supporting education, and encouraging social and economic development within the Kalwar community while contributing positively to society as a whole.
